		<description><![CDATA[I supported this library too - it is an idea to try, and if enough of us give money to help it will happen.  I hope that it is funded as a trial.  I am not sure about the funding model they have planned as a lot of people can not afford to pay for services, but perhaps there are other funding options they can look at over time.  Despite this reservation, it seemed important to support this experiment.]]></description>

I think that helping our community members and ourselves learn some form of coding is key to removing the mystery in the machine.  In the United States in the 1980s it was common for public libraries to offer VCR machines for check-out along with the tapes themselves so that our community could get familiar with them.  Libraries can play a similar role for technologies now emerging.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I would also add that a little bit of coding knowledge can be an extremely useful tool. If you need to manipulate some data (like logs from the ILS or other electronic resources or MARC-records), you will sometimes run into limitations on what you can achieve with off-the-shelf tools like spreadsheets or MarcEdit, but there are no limits to what you can do with a little custom scripting. Coding does not have to mean creating patron-facing web applications!
